Jan Gosens (1961)
Jan Gosens worked at Alcoa -the world leader in aluminium and aluminium products- for 17 years. He got hands-on experience in product development, logistics and manufacturing, before joining the “lend forward programme” in the US. Through this programme he received teachings and guidance directly from experts at Toyota. After that, he was responsible for the implementation of the Alcoa Business System within several plants in the Netherlands. By the end of 2006, Jan joined TAKT as an independent consultant, to share his knowledge and experience with other companies.
“Lean processes ought to be pre-specified dedicated processes with built-in tests. Dedicated processes, where waste, or unnecessary movements and actions are entirely eliminated and all is visible. Organizations need to be organized flexibly, so new dedicated processes, for different customers or products, can easily be added.”
